QARZ-E-HASNA
Definition: “Interest-free lending which is without collateral and is extended by the lender to a borrower on the basis of benevolence (ihsaan).”
Sarwat Gilani is an established artist, activist, entrepreneur and philanthropist who has many accolades to her credit. Sarwat is the ambassador for Special Olympics Pakistan and Indus Hospital Health Network, and many other charitable organizations.
The Qarz-e-Hasna program is a charity-based program initiated by Sarwat Gilani through Art House by Sarwat Gilani which supports creative and vocational training of children who are differently abled and children from minority communities who lack the opportunities and resources to afford the costs of these trainings by conducting free classes for them at Art House by Sarwat Gilani. The program helps these young artists develop and explore their creativity, hone social skills and untap their potential alongside their peers in class.
